ALL ACCESS PASS: Defying Age and Breaking Records

Updated: May 29

In the world of sports, age is often considered a limiting factor, yet, every so often, there is someone who defies this limitation through their love for the game. Patrick O'Bryan is one of those people.

O’Bryan is 77 years old and is still playing baseball. He is a part of a 50 and over league where he is still seen as a force to be reckoned with because of his pitching abilities. However, for O’Bryan, it's not just about the game itself; it's about the joy it brings and the sense of purpose it instills.

At his age, O’Bryan is still able to throw a fastball at 65-70 mph. During last week's episode, O’Bryan shared insights into his pitching techniques, from his deceptive changeup to his curveball that keeps batters on their toes.

O’Bryan's accomplishments on the baseball field have not gone unnoticed, in fact, he set a Guinness World Record for most pitches thrown in an eight-hour period. Surpassing the previous record held by someone decades younger, Patrick's feat is a testament to the power of perseverance and determination.

Though he is a Guinness World Record holder, what's even more impressive is O’Bryan’s spirit. Despite the inevitable aches and pains that come with advancing years, he pushes through, driven by his love for the game and belief in his abilities.

As O’Bryan looks ahead to the future, he has no plans of slowing down, his sights are set on continuing to play and pitch well into his eighties and beyond.

With each throw of the ball, O'Bryan defies the odds, proving that the true measure of a champion lies not in years but in the unyielding passion that drives them forward.
